50 - Celebrating 50 Episodes: How I Achieved Consistency and Embraced Imperfection
Wednesday Jun 26, 2024
Wednesday Jun 26, 2024
I'm thrilled to celebrate our 50th episode and I want to express my gratitude to all listeners for their support! Many podcasts don’t make it past episodes 8 or 9, so this is a special milestone for me. The main lesson I've learned along the way is definitely the power of consistency. Our habits shape our lives, and as Aristotle may have said: "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit."
With that in mind, in this episode, I break down the three steps that I've implemented to stay consistent in releasing this podcast. These include creating a realistic plan, building routines that align with your energy levels, and letting go of perfectionism.
I'm also excited to announce that I'm starting a newsletter and offering a giveaway to celebrate its launch. You could win a free 30-minute coaching session with me. Visit my website to sign up.
CORRECTION: The giveaway runs until July 31, 2024.
Thank you for being part of this journey and here’s to 50 more episodes of growth and learning!

In today's solo episode of A Way of Thinking, the focus is on how to handle and filter external opinions, especially when making significant life changes such as transitioning from a traditional and "safe" corporate job to following your passion.
As someone who had to navigate the advice of many family members and friends when quitting my finance job, I'll speak to the importance of grounding yourself in your personal vision and using that as your foundation. This grounding is crucial in preventing the opinions of others from knocking you off course on your journey. Plus, I'll discuss tactics for dealing with the nuanced topic of balancing respect for others' opinions with the necessity of pursuing your own path.

"We need to respect and appreciate the people who give us their opinions, but also at times, when we really believe we need to go in a new direction, we might have to hit a mute button on those outside opinions."
"When you go against the grain, it can be challenging for others to accept. Sometimes, you're pushing their buttons because they might also want to take risks but aren't willing to so they will try to pull you back to what's safe and familiar."

A Way of Thinking
This podcast is a place of exploration - to learn and grow from each other on the journey to becoming our best selves.
I believe that everyone deserves greater happiness and that starts with the way that we think. So many of us fill our minds with negative thinking and have a toxic relationship with ourselves. I created this podcast as a place to share our different ways of thinking. Perhaps hearing other's experiences will allow you to feel a little less alone and to find new tools and tricks to help you think and do better. We are all on a journey and I hope that this podcast can maybe give you a little nudge in the direction of your best self. I believe in you and I am so excited for the day that you believe in you too.
